How Do I Configure a Private Key in Push Mode

How Do I Configure a Private Key in Push Mode

When I upload performance and resource files in push mode, how do I configure public keys to apply SFTP public key authentication?

In push mode, the NBI module serves as a client, needs to obtain a private key file, and configures the private key path and password in the nbi.xml file.

  1. Generate a key pair.A public key and a private key compose a key pair. The public key is configured on the server and the private key is configured on the client.

Use the PuTTYGen tool to generate a key pair. Click Generate to generate a public key. Copy the generated public key, name it the SFTP user name, and save the file without the file name extension.

Click Save private key to generate a private key. If a password is required, set Key passphrase to a private key password and confirm the password.

The generated private and public keys are shown in the following figure.

  2. Configure a private key.

In push mode, a private key is required in the NBI module. The private key file is saved in eSight installation directory/AppBase. This directory stores the private key file in OpenSSH file format, but not in PPK format. In the nbi.xml file, set AuthMode to 1 (key authentication). If a private key password has been set, you need to add the <ValuePhrase></ValuePhrase> node to configure the ciphertext password of the private key.

  3. Restart the eSight.
