How Do I Start and Stop the Northbound FTP Server?

How Do I Start and Stop the Northbound FTP Server?

Question

The configuration file nbi_ftp_config_eSight.xml is used to configure the northbound FTP server. How do I start and stop the northbound FTP server?

Answer

  • Starting the northbound FTP server
  1. Check the port number used by the southbound FTP server.

Check the port number used by the southbound FTP server in the <Installation directory>/AppBase/sysagent/etc/sysconf/svcbase/med_node_xxx_svc.xml file. For example, if the FTP, SFTP, and FTPS services use port 31921, port 31922, and port 31923, the northbound FTP service cannot use these ports.

  2. Start the northbound FTP server.

In the configuration file <Installation directory>/AppBase/etc/oms.nbi/nbi_ftp_config_eSight.xml, change the value of enable for the corresponding protocol to true. Set listenerPort of the FTP and SFTP services to 32066 and 32067 respectively.

If you start the northbound FTP server the first time, correctly configure the CA keystore and password of the SFTP server, and keystore and password of the SFTP server by following section Reference Information for nbi_ftp_config_eSight.xml.

    The configurations are as follows:

  3. Restart eSight.

View <Installation directory>/AppBase/var/iemp/log/oms/nbi/nbiftp.server.log to check whether the northbound FTP/SFTP server is started successfully. The northbound FTP/SFTP server is started successfully if information similar to the following is displayed.

  • Stopping the northbound FTP server
  1. Stop the northbound FTP/SFTP server.

In the configuration file <Installation directory>/AppBase/etc/oms.nbi/nbi_ftp_config_eSight.xml, change the value of enable for the corresponding protocol to false.

    The configurations are as follows:

  2. Restart eSight. The northbound FTP/SFTP server is stopped.
