Real-Time Alarm Traps Fail to Be Sent

Real-Time Alarm Traps Fail to Be Sent

Symptom

The third-party system cannot receive real-time alarm traps.

Possible Causes

  • The following parameters are incorrectly configured during the deployment of the SNMP NBI.
    • IP address and port on the eSight for sending traps
    • IP address and port on the third-party system for receiving traps
  • A firewall is deployed between the third-party system and the eSight. The port on the third-party system for sending requests fails to communicate with the port on the eSight for receiving request.

Solution

  1. Check whether the IP address and port on the third-party system for receiving traps are consistent between the third-party system and the SNMP NBI. If they are inconsistent, use the consistent parameters to re-deploy the SNMP NBI after negotiation with the third-party system. If yes, go to 2.
  2. Ensure that the port on the third-party system for sending requests communicates properly with the port on the eSight for receiving request when a firewall is deployed.
