How Do I Configure a Public Key in Pull Mode

How Do I Configure a Public Key in Pull Mode

In pull mode, the NBI module functions as the FTP server and allows third-party systems to connect to the FTP server in public key authentication mode. How do I configure a public key on the FTP server?

The eSight acts as the FTP server and supports public key authentication. Only the registered users can apply public key authentication. Perform the following operations to generating and configuring a public key:

  1. Generate a key pair.A public key and a private key compose a key pair. The public key is configured on the server and the private key is configured on the client.

Use the PuTTYGen tool to generate a key pair. Click Generate to generate a public key. Copy the generated public key, name it the SFTP user name, and save the file without the file name extension.Click Save private key to generate a private key. If a password is required, set Key passphrase to a private key password and confirm the password.

  2. Register FTP NBI users with the FTP server of the eSight. Configure only the red fields.

Skip this step if the users are registered.

  3. Restart the eSight. In etc\oms.nbi\keys\, the blank public key file root01.keys that has an identical name with the user name configured in the nbi.xml file is generated. Copy the generated public key content to the root01.keys file. The system automatically reloads the new public key file.

If the configuration file registered by the FTP NBI user is eSight installation directory/AppBase/etc/, the FTP NBI server is reused and the public key file is generated in etc\keys\.
