Verifying the System Installation
After the installation is complete, log in to eSight from the client browser and check whether the installation is successful.
Procedure
- Start the eSight service.
- Log in to the eSight server as a user in the Administrators user group.
- If security hardening has been performed for the Windows operating system, you need to log in to the server as the SWMaster user.
- If the login user is not the Administrator user, follow instructions in How Can I Do If Users in the Administrators User Group Do Not Have the Control Permission on the User Folder to assign the permission to the login user.
- Among all programs, choose eSight > eSight Console.
- Click Start in the eSight Console dialog box.
Stop the maintenance tool if it is running.
When the status of every process is RUNNING and the message "starting eSight system succeeded" is displayed, the eSight service has been started.
- Log in to the eSight server as a user in the Administrators user group.
- Log in to eSight from the client web browser and check whether the eSight version and functions are normal.
- In the address box, enter https://eSight server IP address:31943 and press Enter.
- To set the client web browser, see "Operation Guide" in the eSight Product Documentation.
- If a message indicating a problem with the website security certificate is displayed, see "Maintenance Guide" in the eSight Product Documentation.
- If the browser is not equipped with a flash player, download and install Adobe Flash Player provided by eSight. Otherwise, some pages cannot be displayed normally.
- If you set the server IP address to localhost or 127.0.0.1 on the eSight server, the security certificate cannot be installed.
- If the certification authentication login is configured, the eSight home page is displayed automatically. Otherwise, enter the user name admin. Click Login.
- After login, click
in the upper right corner, and verify that the current version is the target version. Otherwise, eSight should be reinstalled.
- In the address box, enter https://eSight server IP address:31943 and press Enter.
- Log in to the maintenance tool from the client browser.
- In the address box, enter https://eSight server IP address:31945 and press Enter.
- Enter the user name sys. For the initial password, see the eSight User List released with the version (Support: https://support.huawei.com/carrier/docview!docview?nid=DOC1100897230; Support-E: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1100230257). Click Login.
You must change the password when you log in to eSight for the first time.
- Delete the installation package and temporary files from the server after the installation is complete.
