Installing the eSight Platform and Components
This section describes how to install the eSight Platform and components on the Windows operating system.
Prerequisites
- Installation software has been obtained. For details, see Obtaining the Installation Software.
- The SQL Server database has been installed. If it has not been installed, install it based on its installation manual or Installing the SQL Server Database.
- If the SQL Server database is used, set the local listening port for the database. For details, see Installing the SQL Server Database.
- The virtual memory of the operating system has been set. For details, see Setting the Virtual Memory.
- The firewall has been disabled. For details, see Turning Off the Windows Operating System Firewall.
- The network adapter is enabled.
- A static IP address has been configured for the eSight server.
Context
- After the installation is complete, the OpenSSH service is added on the server by default. The default user name is ossuser and cannot be changed. For the initial password, see the eSight User List released with the version (Support: https://support.huawei.com/carrier/docview!docview?nid=DOC1100897230; Support-E: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/en/doc/EDOC1100230257). To change the password, see "Security Maintenance > Password Change" in the Maintenance Guide.
- After eSight is installed, the eSight service starts with the operating system.
On the eSight Console that runs on the Windows operating system, you can click Settings and select or deselect Startup with Windows automatically to enable whether eSight automatically starts with the operating system.
Procedure
- Log in to the eSight server as a user in the Administrators user group.
- Upload the installation package eSight_V300R010C00SPC500_Win.zip to the server, and decompress the installation package to a directory, for example, D:\install\eSight.
- The eSight installation files must be stored in a local path.
- The installation file directory and absolute path can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), tildes (~), underscores (_), and periods (.). Otherwise, the installation will fail.
- Double-click setup.bat in the installation package directory to start the installation program.
- Read the license agreement, select Read and Accept License Agreement, and click Install.
The system automatically checks whether the current environment meets the requirements for installing the eSight software. If the requirements cannot be met, a message will be displayed. Perform operations as prompted to ensure that all items meet the requirements and then install eSight again.
- In the Set Installation Parameters window, set installation parameters and click Next.
If the specified installation directory does not exist, the system displays a dialog box, asking you whether to create an installation directory. In this dialog box, click Yes.
