How Do I Configure a VM as an Exclusive Resource

- To configure the VMware VM, perform the following operations:
- Start a VMware VM, choose Getting Started, and click Edit virtual machine settings.
- Click the Resources tab, select CPU, set Shares to Normal, and set Reservation to the maximum value.
- Choose Memory, select Reserve all guest memory (All locked), and click OK.
- Restart the VM.
- To configure the Hyper-V VM, perform the following operations:
- Stop the Hyper-V VM.
- Start the Hyper-V Manager, right-click the target VM, and choose Setting from the shortcut menu.
- Click the Memory tab and set Startup RAM based on specifications. Select Enable Dynamic Memory and set Minimum RAM and Startup RAM to the same value.
- Click the Processor tab, set Number of virtual processors based on specifications, set Virtual machine reserve(percentage) to 100, and click OK.
- Restart the VM.
- To configure the Fusion Sphere VM, perform the following operations:
- Open the FusionSphere management page and choose Resources > Computing > Flavors from the main menu.
Create a VM specification.
- Click Create Flavor.
- Set the following parameters based on eSight VM requirements:
- vCPU Bound to Physical Thread: Set this parameter to Enabled.
- Real-time Instance: Set this parameter to Enabled.
You can also use an existing VM flavor that meets the parameter requirements.
- Choose Resources > Computing > Compute Instances from the main menu and click the VM to be configured.
- Click the Hardware tab, click Modify, select the created VM flavor, and click OK.
- Restart the VM.
- Open the FusionSphere management page and choose Resources > Computing > Flavors from the main menu.
