What Can I Do When Oracle Installation Fails Because the IP Address and Host Name Does Not Match
Question
If the IP address and host name does not match, Oracle installation fails.
Answer
- Log in to the Linux operating system as the root user.
Remotely log in to the server as the ossuser and switch to the root user if the SUSE Linux is hardened.
- Start the command terminal and run the following command to display the YaST2 Control Center interface:
# yast2
- Select System > Network Settings.
- Click the Hostname/DNS tab and check and record the host name.
- On the Overview tab page, select the IP address and click Edit.
- On the Network Card Setup page, click the Address tab and set the host name by referring to Step 4.
- Click Next. After the configuration, install Oracle again.
