Configuring the RAID Manually
If the server supports the RAID function, configure the RAID for the server to improve system reliability. This section describes how to configure the RAID for Huawei 2288H V5 servers. If you use servers of other models, see the product documentation of the server or consult the supplier about RAID configuration.
One-Node System 2288H V5 Server with Standard Configurations
Before installing the operating system, configure the RAID for the server to improve storage performance and data security of the disks. This section describes how to configure the RAID on the iBMC web page for Huawei 2288H V5 servers (two disks).
Prerequisites
You have planned the RAID for the server based on Collecting Information.
Procedure
- Log in to the iBMC web management page.
- Open a browser, enter https://IP address of the iBMC management network port in the address box, and press Enter. The default IP address of the iBMC management port is 192.168.2.100.
- (Optional) If the security alarm window is displayed, click Continue to this website.
- Enter the user name and password, and click Log In.
The default user name is Administrator. For the initial password, see the device documentation. (Support: https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=DOC1000401174&lang=en; Support-E: https://support.huawei.com/hedex/hdx.do?docid=EDOC1000163559&lang=en).
- On the iBMC web management page, choose Information from the main menu.
- Power on the server.
- Choose System Info from the navigation pane on the left and choose Storage on the right of the page.
- Click the Configure tab and click the arrow icon next to Logical Drive to expand the options.
- If the device has just been powered on, the configuration page may not be displayed. Wait and then open the configuration page again.
- Disable the JBOD mode. If this mode is enabled, disable the mode and restart the server.
Select Delete in Logical Drive. If the logical disk has been configured, select the Operation column in each row and click Save.
Deleting a logical disk takes a long time. Ensure that the logical disk has been deleted and perform subsequent operations after the system is restarted.
- Configure RAID 1 using Disk0 and Disk1.
- Under Logical Drive, select Create, set Write Policy to Write Back with BBU, set Init State to Quick Init, set Level to 1, and configure two physical disks.
If Write Back with BBU does not exist, set Write Policy to Write Back.
- Click Save.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, click Yes.
If a message indicating that the operation succeeded is displayed, the RAID configuration is complete.
- Under Logical Drive, select Create, set Write Policy to Write Back with BBU, set Init State to Quick Init, set Level to 1, and configure two physical disks.
- Click Views to check whether the RAID level, write policy, and capacity are the same as planned. If they are consistent, the configuration is correct.
One-Node System 2288H V5 Server with High Configurations
