How do I expand the memory of Huawei RH5885H V3 server from 64 GB to 128 GB?
Solution
Capacity expansion has risks. If the memory cannot be recognized or the server cannot be started normally, contact Huawei technical support.
By default, Huawei RH5885H V3 server (64 GB) provides four memory boards Memory Riser1, Memory Riser3, Memory Riser5, and Memory Riser7, as shown in Figure 11-1 Each memory board is installed with two 8-GB DIMMs DIMM A1 and DIMM B1, as shown in Figure 11-2.
When expanding the memory capacity, you need to install eight 8-GB DIMMs in the DIMM C1 and DIMM D1 slots on Memory Riser1, Memory Riser3, Memory Riser5, and Memory Riser7, respectively. For details, see section 5.34 "Installing DIMMs" in the RH5885H V3 Server V100R003 User Guide.
