Uninstalling the eSight Server
The service components that are installed on the same server as the eSight Platform cannot be uninstalled independently. They are uninstalled automatically as the eSight Platform is uninstalled.
Context
When eSight is uninstalled, the eSight database and configuration file are uninstalled. To keep the eSight database and configuration files, back up the backup files in AppBase/backup, ntc/backup, and mttools/etc/sysconf/backup in the same-level directory as the eSight installation directory or the backup files on the remote server in advance.
Procedure
- Log in to the eSight server as the Administrator user.
If security hardening has been performed for the Windows operating system, you need to log in to the server as the SWMaster user.
- If the login user is not the Administrator user, follow instructions in How Can I Do If Users in the Administrators User Group Do Not Have the Control Permission on the User Folder to assign the permission to the login user.
- Choose Start > All Programs > eSight > eSight Console.
- Click Stop in the eSight Console dialog box.
- When the status of every process is STOPPED and the message "stopping eSight system succeeded" is displayed, the eSight service has been stopped. Close the eSight Console dialog box.
- Choose Start > All Programs > eSight > Uninstall eSight.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, click Next.
- In the Confirm dialog box that is displayed, click Yes.
The system starts uninstallation, which takes about 10 minutes.
- When the uninstallation is complete, click Finish.
- In the Confirm dialog box that is displayed, click Yes to restart the operating system. After the restart, you may need to manually delete the eSight installation directory (for example, D:\eSight) and eSight data file directory (such as D:\eSightData).
