Configuring System Services
Before using eSight, you need to configure system services based on the site requirements to ensure that eSight functions properly.
- (Optional) Configuring Multi-Subnet Management
By default, eSight can manage devices in one subnet and allows users to access eSight or the maintenance tool from the clients in one subnet. To manage devices in multiple subnets or access eSight from management clients in multiple subnets, enable multi-subnet management. - (Optional) Configuring the Southbound IP Address
The network is divided into the southbound network (where devices reside) and northbound network (where the upper-layer NMS, third-party system, and client reside) through the configuration of a southbound IP address. The northbound network cannot directly access devices on the southbound network. Therefore, devices and other network facilities are isolated, enhancing device security and reducing attack risks. - (Optional) Logging In to the eSight Client Through Certificate Authentication
eSight supports two login authentication modes: user name and password authentication and certificate authentication. To use the certificate authentication mode, you need to enable certificate authentication and import the client certificate, server client, and root certificate. - (Optional) Accessing the eSight Client Through the Domain Name
The eSight client can be accessed through the IP address or domain name. By default, the IP address is used for accessing the eSight client. To access the eSight client using the domain name, you need to import the domain name certificate on the eSight server and configure the DNS server information in the local PC. - Configure the eSight Server as the NTP Client (Windows)
