Interconnecting with the VCS
The endpoint can register with Cisco's VCS and initiates conferences to other endpoints that have registered with the VCS. You can start the registration only after importing the CA certificate of the VCS to the endpoint.
To register your endpoint with the VCS, perform the following steps:
- Open a web browser, enter the VCS IP address in the address box, and press Enter to access the login page of the VCS web interface, and select User login, as shown in Figure A-1.
- Enter the user name and password and click Login, as shown in Figure A-2.
Obtain the user name and password from the VCS administrator.
- Choose Maintenance > Certificate management > Security certificates, as shown in Figure A-3.
- On the Security certificates page, click Show CA certificate to view the CA certificate, as shown in Figure A-4.
- Copy the content of the CA certificate to a local file and save the file in .pem format.
- Log in to the endpoint's web interface and choose Maintenance > Certificate Management, as shown in Figure A-5.
- On the CA Certificate tab, click Add Certificate. In the Import CA Certificate window, click Certificate in the lower left corner, select that .pem certificate file, and click Import, as shown in Figure A-6.
- Choose System Settings > Network > Registration, set Cloud platform type to Manual, and set Server type under SIP to CISCO VCS, as shown in Figure A-7.
- Select an SSL version that is supported by the VCS; otherwise, the registration will fail.
- The endpoint that needs to interconnect with the VCS must have the certificate authentication function enabled. This function is enabled by default. If it is disabled, run the ui config set call.sipcall.IsUseCertificate 1 and ui config save commands to enable it. After that, you need to restart the endpoint.
- Click Save.
