An Error Occurred at an Attempt to Open the USB Configuration Tool
Symptom
Symptom 1: When a user attempts to open the TE10USBConfigurationTool.xls using Microsoft Office 2013, an error message is displayed, indicating that the file is damaged and cannot be opened.
Symptom 2: When a user attempts to open the TE10USBConfigurationTool.xls using Microsoft Office 2007 or 2013, an error message is displayed, indicating that the CommandButton1 control fails to be created so the file cannot exit the design mode. The file gives no response when the user clicks the Import and Export buttons in it.
Solution
Symptom 1: The file is not trusted due to its parameters. To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
Open the file, choose FILE > Option > Trust Center, and click Trust Center Settings....
Choose Protected View and clear all check boxes, as shown in Figure 9-1.

Click OK. Close the file and open it again.
If that error message is displayed again, go to 4.
If the file is opened successfully, the procedure ends.
Open the file, choose FILE > Option > Trust Center, and click Trust Center Settings....
Choose Trusted Locations and click Add new location.... In the dialog box that is displayed, select the path where the USB configuration tool resides, as shown in Figure 9-2.

Click OK. Close the file and open it again.
