Using the Wizard

The Wizard helps you quickly and conveniently set the basic, camera, and network parameters on your endpoint.

Background

Generally, the administrator sets the network and camera parameters when installing the system. Users do not need to set these parameters when using your endpoint for videoconferencing. To modify the parameter settings, the administrator can use the Wizard to quickly complete the modification.

Procedure

  1. Choose System Settings > Installation.

    The Installation page is displayed.

  2. Click Wizard.

    The General page is displayed.

  3. Set the basic parameters. Refer to Setting Basic Parameters and Setting LAN Parameters.
  4. Click Next.

    The Registration page is displayed.

  5. Obtain the server to connect to and its settings from the administrator. Table 3-23 describes the server types.

    Server Type (Cloud Platform Type)

    Description

    Huawei Cloud

    Click Activate. After the Huawei cloud service is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the Huawei cloud platform.

    Videxio

    Click Activate. After the Videxio cloud service is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the Videxio cloud platform.
    NOTE:
    The mode in which the endpoint obtains configuration data from the Videxio cloud platform can be specified. If the Auto mode is used, the endpoint will obtain configuration data from the configuration server on the Videxio cloud platform every 900s. If detecting any configuration updates, the endpoint will register with the SIP server using the updated configuration data again.

    TMS/DM/eSight

    Enter the server address, authentication user name, and authentication password of the Huawei Terminal Management System (TMS), China Mobile Device Management (DM), or eSight and click Activate. After the TMS, DM, or eSight is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the TMS, DM, or eSight.

    SMC

    Enter the server address, authentication user name, and authentication password of the SMC and click Activate. After the SMC is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the SMC.

    StarLeaf

    Click Activate. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the activation code and click OK. After the StarLeaf cloud service is activated, the endpoint automatically obtains configuration data from the StarLeaf cloud platform.
    NOTE:
    Only the first-time activation requires an activation code.

    Manual

    Manually set H.323 and SIP parameters. Refer to Setting Server Parameters.

  6. Click Next.

    The Video Input page is displayed.

  7. Set the video input parameters. Refer to Configuring Video Input.
  8. Click Finish.
