Performing a Primary/Secondary Switchover for a Remote Replication Pair

Performing a Primary/Secondary Switchover for a Remote Replication Pair

This operation enables you to perform a primary/secondary switchover for a remote replication pair. After the switchover, the primary and secondary ends are switched over.

  • You have created a remote replication pair and its running status must be Split.
  • You have created a consistency snapshot for the secondary volume.
  • You have disabled protection for secondary resource.

    1. In FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform, choose DR Service > dr > DR Cluster. On the Disaster Recovery Service page, at the row where the cluster resides, click Manage Remote Replication, and select Remote Replication Pair Management.

The Remote Replication Pair Management page is displayed.

    2. In the operation column of the remote replication pair whose status is to be switched, click More > Perform Primary/Secondary Switchover.

During the primary/secondary switchover, ensure that data has been synchronized between the primary and secondary ends. Otherwise, data that is not synchronized will be lost.

    3. Split the remote replication pair as prompted.
    4. Optional: Enable Protection for Secondary Resource.
