Installing the DR Component

Installing the DR Component

This operation is used to install the DR component for FusionStorage Block.

Perform this operation for both the local and remote storage systems.

  • You have installed the FusionStorage Manager (FSM) nodes.
  • You have obtained the FusionStorage Block software package.

    Upload the software package.

    1. On FusionStorage Block Self-Maintenance Platform, select Disaster Recovery Service.

The Disaster Recovery Service page is displayed.

    2. Click on the dotted box.

The Add Software Package page is displayed.

    3. Click , choose the FusionStorage Block package, and click Upload.

If the dr box is displayed, the package upload is successful.

    Install the service.

    1. Click on the dr box and choose Service Software Install Management.

The Service Installation page is displayed.

    2. Click Install Service.

The Install Service-Select Server page is displayed.

    3. Click Select and select the servers for which the service is to be installed.

The DR service needs to be installed on all DR nodes.

    4. Confirm the selected servers and click OK.
    5. Click OK to start installation.

A dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation is successful.

    6. Click OK.

      The service installation is complete.

    Install the driver.

    1. Click Install Driver.

The Install Driver-Select Server page is displayed.

    2. Click Select and select the servers for which the driver is to be installed.

The dr service driver needs to be installed on all the DR nodes and the nodes that use the HyperMetro volumes and remote replication volumes.

    3. Confirm the selected servers and click OK.
    4. Click OK to start the installation.

A dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation is successful.

    5. Click OK.

      The driver installation is complete.

    Configure specifications.

When the DR service is deployed independently (on an independent node), you do not need to perform the following operations. You need to perform the following operations only when the DR service and storage are deployed in converged mode (the DR service is deployed on storage nodes).

    1. Use PuTTY to log in to the FSM node as user dsware through the floating IP address of the management plane. For details about how to use public and private keys for login authentication, see Using PuTTY to Log In to a Node in Key Pair Authentication Mode.
    2. Run the sh /opt/dsware/client/bin/ --op drCmd -subOp ChangeAddProcessConfig -parameter max_pool_num:8,max_pair_num:10000,max_iops:maxIops,max_bandwidth:max_bandwidth command to configure the maximum numbers of storage pools and pairs supported by a DR cluster, the maximum number of IOPS supported by each DR node, and the maximum replication bandwidth (unit: MB/s) between DR nodes. Enter user name cmdadmin and its password as prompted. The default password is IaaS@PORTAL-CLOUD9!.

maxIops is the maximum IOPS specification supported by each DR node.

      • Converged deployment (SSD cache + HDD): maxIops = 10,000
      • Converged deployment (full SSD): maxIops = 30,000

max_bandwidth is the maximum replication bandwidth between DR nodes.

      • Converged deployment (SSD cache + HDDs): max_bandwidth = 150
      • Converged deployment (all SSDs): max_bandwidth = 450
