Deployment Modes

The disaster recovery (DR) service can be deployed on independent nodes or on storage nodes. That is, DR nodes can be independent nodes or integrated with storage nodes.

Converged Deployment

As shown in Figure 1-6, the DR service is deployed on storage nodes. That is, no independent replication node is available, and storage nodes provide the DR service.

The DR service consists of two logical clusters: service cluster and control cluster.
  • Service cluster: manages pairs and consistency groups, and migrate data.
  • Control cluster: manages nodes (3, 5, or 7 nodes) in a cluster and cluster metadata. The ZK and CCDB processes of the control cluster require local storage to record metadata information.

Independent deployment

As shown in Figure 1-7, the independent deployment indicates that the disaster recovery service is deployed on an independent DR node.
