Collecting OS Logs
Collect OS logs after an OS fault occurs.
- Obtain the customer's written authorization before collecting information.
- Logs collected by SmartKit may contain sensitive customer information. If sensitive customer information is involved, obtain the customer's written authorization before performing any maintenance operation.
Table 4-2 describes the methods for collecting logs of different OSs.

Log in to the OS CLI over SSH and copy all files in the /var/log/ directory. Collect files prefixed with syslog (for example, syslog and syslog.0), dmesg, and kernel in /var/log/boot.log and /var/log/ before collecting other files. NOTE:
