Connection Planning Between Bays and AC Power Supplies

Before installing the storage system, survey the power supply system of an equipment room and determine a power supply solution for the bays. These operations ensure that the storage system runs correctly after it is installed.

To secure customers' data, each controller enclosure of the storage system is equipped with four backup battery units (BBUs). This ensures that the data is written to coffer disks if the storage system is unexpectedly powered off. In addition, the specifications of these power supplies must conform to the availability requirements specified in tier 2 or higher tier of the TIA942 (standards of telecommunication infrastructure in data centers).

The AC power supplies of an equipment room must be deployed before the device installation. You can deploy the power supplies in accordance with the availability requirements specified in tier 2 or higher tier of the TIA942. If possible, use one independent uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system and two independent power distribution frames (PDFs) to input power for each bay.


When the storage system is being installed, Huawei technical support engineers and customers' electrical engineers verify the redundancy of power supplies together.
