This document describes the division of responsibilities between Huawei and customers during the deployment of the Dorado18000 V3 storage system and the tasks that need to be completed before the installation.

Floor Load Capacity

The Dorado18000 V3 storage system can be installed on both raised floors and non-raised floors. Before installing the storage system, you must consult the specified agency to check that the storage system and associated equipment do not overweigh these floors or incur a structure risk for the building.

System Weight

Table 2-10 describes weight of components of the Dorado18000 V3 storage system. Before installing the Dorado18000 V3 storage system, consult the specified agency to ensure that the floor of an equipment room can support the Dorado18000 V3 storage system.

Load Capacity of a Raised Floor

For the Dorado18000 V3 storage system, raised floors are preferable to non-raised floors.

To secure the load capacity of a raised floor, use the concrete-filled steely over-loading floor whose dimensions are 600 mm (W) x 600 mm (L) as the raised floor. If using another type of floor as the raised floor, ensure that the minimum rated load of the floor is not smaller than the device weight.

Customers must ensure that the floors in an equipment room provide sufficient strength to support the storage system and associated equipment. Huawei shares no responsibility for personal injuries and device damages resulted from inadequate load capacity of these floors.

When deploying a bay on a raised floor, note the following:

  • Horizontally align the floor.
  • Ensure that the floor tiles and their vertical beams are able to bear the concentrated load of equipment room maintenance personnel and a bay's four wheels.
  • Ensure that the minimum bearing strength of a floor tile is able to bear the concentrated load of equipment room maintenance personnel and a bay.
  • Because floor tile cuts decrease the load capacity, place bases next to these cuts correctly after consulting the floor tile manufacturer.
  • You can install iron or wooden plates on the floor to reinforce it. The plates for protecting the floor are provided by carriers.
