Viewing General Information About a Storage Pool

This operation enables you to view the general information of a storage pool.


A storage pool has been created.


  1. Choose Provisioning > Storage Pool.
  2. Select the storage pool whose information you want to view and click Properties.

    The Properties of Storage Pool dialog box is displayed.

  3. View the general properties of the storage pool.

    Table 5-7 describes the related parameters.

    Name of a storage pool.




    Description of a storage pool.




    ID of a storage pool.



    Disk Domain

    Name of the disk domain to which a storage pool belongs.



    RAID Policy

    Possible values are as follows:

    • RAID 5: provides one parity disk for data redundancy.
    • RAID 6: provides two parity disks for data redundancy.
    • RAID-TP: provides three parity disks for data redundancy.
    • RAID 10: provides equal numbers of parity disks and data disks for data redundancy.


    RAID 6

    Data Reduction Ratio

    Total volume of data written to the storage pool divided by the storage pool's used capacity.



    Health Status

    Health status of a storage pool.



    Thin LUN Space Saving Rate

    Calculation formula:

    Thin LUN space saving rate = (Remaining thin LUN capacity/Total thin LUN capacity of the storage pool) x 100%

    Remaining thin LUN capacity = Total thin LUN capacity of the storage pool - Used thin LUN capacity.



    Running Status

    Running status of a storage pool.



    Overall Space Saving Ratio

    Calculation formula:

    Capacity configured for all LUNs/Available capacity of all LUNs x Data reduction ratio.


    If the percentage of all LUNs' available capacity to their configured capacity is lower than 1%, the available capacity is considered as 1% of the configured capacity.



    Total Subscribed Capacity Ratio

    Ratio of the actual capacity occupied by LUNs to the total subscribed capacity.

    Total Capacity

    Total capacity of all LUNs and all active snapshots in the storage pool. It does not include the capacity of inactive snapshots, eDevLUNs, or primary LUNs of LUN mirrors.


    This capacity may be greater than the storage pool's capacity.

    Capacity in the storage pool used by the LUNs before deduplication and compression, excluding data protection capacity.


    10.000 GB


    Total remaining capacities of all LUNs in the storage pool.


    3.000 GB


    Storage pool capacity distribution.
