This document is applicable to OceanStor Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3, Dorado6000 V3 and Dorado18000 V3. Based on the CLI provided by the DeviceManager, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functions and how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

create lun_workload_type general

Function

The create lun_workload_type general command is used to create workload type . After creating a workload type, you can choose it when you are creating LUNs. Through this method the LUN space parameter can be reasonably set.

Format

create lun_workload_type general name=? io_size=? dedup_enabled=? compression_enabled=? [ id=? ]

Value

name=?

Indicates the workload type name.

The value contains 1 to 31 ASCII characters,including digits, letters, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).

io_size=?

Indicates the request size of the workload type.

The value is in the format of "4KB", "8KB", "16KB", "32KB", "64KB" or ">64KB".

dedup_enabled=?

Enable deduplication or not.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where

  • "yes": The deduplication function will be enabled.
  • "no": The deduplication function will not be enabled.

compression_enabled=?

Enable compression or not.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where

  • "yes": The compression function will be enabled.
  • "no": The compression function will not be enabled.

id

Indicates the workload type ID.

The value ranges from 16 to 143.

Usage Guidelines

Manually assign the parameters for a workload type to be created.

Example

Create a workload type and set its parameters as follows:

  • Name:oracle_OLTP
  • io_size:8KB
  • dedup_enabled:enable
  • compression_enabled:enable.
admin:/>create lun_workload_type general name=oracle_OLTP io_size=8KB dedup_enabled=yes compression_enabled=yes
