This document is applicable to OceanStor Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3, Dorado6000 V3 and Dorado18000 V3. Based on the CLI provided by the DeviceManager, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functions and how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

change remote_device link


The change remote_device link command is used to modify the attributes of a link to a remote device.


change remote_device link link_type=? link_id=? { bandwidth_limit_enabled=? [ bandwidth=? ] | bandwidth_utilization_rate=? | ip=? | recovery_policy=? | fast_write_enabled=? } *






Type of a link.

The value can be:

  • "FC": The remote device and the local device connect to each other through Fibre Channel links.
  • "iSCSI": The remote device and the local device connect to each other through iSCSI links.


ID of a link.

To obtain the value, run "show remote_device link".


Whether or not to enable bandwidth limitation.

The value can be:

  • "yes": Bandwidth limitation will be enabled.
  • "no": Bandwidth limitation will be disabled.


Bandwidth of a link. This parameter is valid only when "bandwidth_limit_enabled=?" is set to "yes".

The value is an integer followed by a unit. The unit can be G, M or K, which respectively correspond to Gbps, Mbps or Kbps. For example, the value can be "500M".


Bandwidth utilization rate.

The value ranges from 1 to 100, expressed in percentage.

The default value is "75".


IP address of a remote device. This parameter is valid only when "link_type=?" is set to "iSCSI".



Link recovery policy. This parameter is valid only when "link_type=?" is set to "iSCSI".

The value can be:

  • "automatic": indicates automatic recovery.
  • "manual": indicates manual recovery.

The default value is "automatic".


State of fast write. This parameter is valid only when link_type=? is set to "iSCSI".

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • "yes": Indicates fast write is enabled.
  • "no": Indicates fast write is disabled.



Usage Guidelines

  • A link bandwidth too large will invade the bandwidth resources for other services, whereas a link bandwidth too small will cause service instability or timeout.
  • Before running this command, ensure that the set bandwidth is appropriate for onsite requirements.


Modify the attributes of Fibre Channel link "4", where bandwidth limitation will be enabled, the bandwidth threshold is "400M", and the bandwidth utilization rate is "80%".

WARNING: You are going to modify the parameters of the link (source-target information). A link bandwidth above the threshold affects the performance of other services, and a link bandwidth below the threshold affects the performance of the current service. Changing the IP address information of the link or fast_write policy may cause link reconnection that interrupts services.  
Suggestion: Before you set the link threshold, determine the link bandwidth that is actually required and the bandwidth that can be allocated from the physical link to the current connection. Before you modify the IP address information and fast_write policy, check whether any standby replication link exists. Whether the fast_write policy take effect instantly is determined after the driver negotiation.
