This document is applicable to OceanStor Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3, Dorado6000 V3 and Dorado18000 V3. Based on the CLI provided by the DeviceManager, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functions and how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

Function

The change snmp community command is used to change the SNMP read-only community string or the read-write community string. SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c use community strings for authentication purposes. Run this command if you need to change community strings for improved system security.

change snmp community read_community=? write_community=?

Read-only community string that is used for reading device information.To obtain the security policy of the password,run "show snmp safe_strategy" command.

The value can contain any characters. The value ranges from 4 to 32.

write_community=?

Read-write community string that is used for reading or writing device information.To obtain the security policy of the password,run "show snmp safe_strategy" command.

The value can contain any characters. The value ranges from 4 to 32.

Usage Guidelines

To ensure system security, change the community strings when you log in to the system for the first time.

  • The default read-only community string is "storage_public", read-write community string is "storage_private".
  • The community are subject to the following conditions:
    • The community consists of 4 to 32 characters and is case sensitive. Its length can be changed running the "change snmp safe_strategy" command.
    • The community must contain special characters including ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ = + \ | [ { } ] ; : ' " , < . > / ? and space.
    • The community must meet password complexity requirements:
  • When "password complex" is set to "Normal", the community must contain at least two of the following three: lowercase character, uppercase character, and number.
  • When "password complex" is set to "High", the community must contain lowercase character, uppercase character, and number.
    • The read-only community must be different from the read-write community.
NOTE:
  • To ensure compatibility, the system still supports SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c. To ensure data security, it is strongly recommended to use SNMPv3.
  • You can use the "change snmp safe_strategy" command to change the policies of read-only and read-write community.

Example

To change the SNMP read-only community string to "Storage@Public1" and the read-write community string to "Storage@Private1", run the following command.

admin:/>change snmp community read_community=*************** write_community=****************
