This document is applicable to OceanStor Dorado3000 V3, Dorado5000 V3, Dorado6000 V3 and Dorado18000 V3. Based on the CLI provided by the DeviceManager, this document describes how to use various commands classified by functions and how to set the CLI and manage the storage system through these commands.

change consistency_group general

Function

The change consistency_group general command is used to modify the information of consistency groups.

Format

change consistency_group general consistency_group_id=? { compress_enable=? | name=? | recovery_policy=? | synchronization_rate=? | synchronization_type=? [ timing_length=? timing_unit=? ] | second_res_access=? | remote_io_timeout_period=? } *

consistency_group_id=?

ID of a consistency group.

To obtain the value, run "show consistency_group general".

name=?

Updated name of a consistency group.

The value contains 1 to 31 ASCII characters including digits, letters, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.), and can only start with a digit or a letter.

recovery_policy=?

Link recovery policy. This parameter defines a policy for recovering the links that were unexpectedly disconnected for the remote replication tasks in a consistency group.

The value can be:

  • "automatic": When links are recovered, the remote replication tasks in the consistency group are resumed automatically.
  • "manual": When links are recovered, the remote replication tasks in the consistency group need to be resumed manually. The consistency group retains the state preserved at the time when links are interrupted, and does not resume the interrupted remote replication tasks automatically.

The default value is "automatic".

synchronization_rate=?

Updated synchronization rate.

The value can be:

  • "Low": 0 to 5 MB/s. This speed applies to scenarios where the service load is very heavy.
  • "Middle": 5 to 20 MB/s. For Dorado3000 V3, the value is from 5 to 10 MB/s. For others, the value is from 10 to 20 MB/s. This speed is applied when system service load is relatively heavy.
  • "High": 10 to 70 MB/s. For Dorado3000 V3, the value is from 10 to 20 MB/s. For Dorado5000 V3 (SAS), the value is from 20 to 35 MB/s. For Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe), Dorado6000 V3, and Dorado18000 V3, the value is from 50 to 70 MB/s. This speed applies to scenarios where the service load is relatively light.
  • "Highest": more than 100 MB/s. This speed applies to scenarios where the service load is light.

The default value is "Middle".

synchronization_type=?

Updated synchronization type. This parameter is valid only when the consistency group type is asynchronous.

The value can be:

  • "manual": Data needs to be synchronized manually.
  • "auto_start_timing": When a data synchronization job is started, the storage system waits for a period specified by the synchronization interval before implementing the next synchronization job.
  • "auto_end_timing": When a data synchronization job is completed, the storage system waits for a period specified by the synchronization interval before implementing the next synchronization job.

timing_length=?

Synchronization interval. This parameter is valid only when synchronization_type=? is set to "timed_wait_when_synchronization_begins" or "timed_wait_when_synchronization_ends".

  • The value ranges from 1 to 1440, expressed in minutes.
  • The value ranges from 10 to 59, expressed in seconds.

timing_unit=?

Unit of the synchronization period.

The value can be:

  • "minute": indicates minutes.
  • "second": indicates seconds.

second_res_access=?

Access property of the secondary LUN.

The value can be:

  • "read_only": The secondary LUN can only be read.
  • "read_write": The secondary LUN can be read and written.

compress_enable=?

Whether to enable compression.

The value can be "yes" or "no", where:

  • yes: enables compression.
  • no: disables compression.

remote_io_timeout_period=?

Timeout period of I/Os written to the secondary storage array during dual-write of synchronous remote replication consistency group.

The value ranges from 10 to 30, expressed in seconds.

Usage Guidelines

  • If the recovery policy changes from automatic to manual by running this command, synchronization jobs for the selected consistency group will not be automatically resumed after links are recovered.
  • Before running this command, ensure that the selected consistency group is exactly the one you want to modify its information.
  • You can run this command only on the primary end for a consistency group.

Example

  • Modify the information on consistency group "200bc79b99520000", where the updated group name is "newname", and the updated recovery policy is manual.
    admin:/>change consistency_group general consistency_group_id=200bc79b99520000 name=newname recovery_policy=manual 
    Command executed successfully.
  • Modify the information on consistency group "200bc79b99520000", where the updated group name is "newname", the updated synchronization rate is highest, and the updated recovery policy is manual.
    admin:/>change consistency_group general consistency_group_id=200bc79b99520000 name=newname synchronization_rate=Highest recovery_policy=manual 
    WARNING: You are about to change the synchronization speed to the highest. 
    After the operation, data of remote replication pairs in the consistency group will be synchronized at the highest speed. As a result, the host latency may increase and the synchronization relationships of remote replication pairs in the consistency group may be interrupted. 
    Suggestion: Select a lower synchronization speed. If you select the highest speed, check the capabilities of the local and remote devices and the replication link bandwidth. You are advised to select the highest synchronization speed during off-peak hours.
