This section lists performance indicators that can be monitored by SystemReporter as well as information pertaining to them including: their description and significance, how to create templates, operations, and performance.

Avg. I/O response time (us)

Time of processing one request by a module, including the waiting time.

Indicates the speed of I/O request processing. The longer the queue is, the longer the system takes to respond to a request. For a specified load, response time is in direct proportion to queue length.

Max. I/O response time (us)

Maximum I/O response time during the performance statistical period.

Indicates the max. duration of the system responding to a read/write request.

Avg. I/O response time (ms)

Time of processing one request by a module, including the waiting time.

Indicates the speed of I/O request processing. The longer the queue is, the longer the system takes to respond to a request. For a specified load, response time is in direct proportion to queue length.

Max. I/O response time (ms)

Maximum I/O response time during the performance statistical period.

Indicates the max. duration of the system responding to a read/write request.

Cache flushes to write requests ratio (%)

Ratio of cache flash requests to front-end host write requests. Divide cache flush I/Os by front-end write I/Os to obtain the ratio. The statistics are collected by cache partition.

Indicates the effect of cache on reducing write I/O latency. A smaller value means better data convergence and higher write performance.

Cache flushing bandwidth (MB/s)

Data amount generated by disk flushing per second. The unit is MB/s. Divide total data amount (unit: MB) contained in disk flushing requests successfully returned within the statistical period by the statistical period (unit: second) to obtain the data amount.

Indicates the data volume flushed from cache per second at the back end.

Full-stripe write request ratio (%)

Ratio of full stripe write requests to all write requests (Number of full stripe write requests per second).

Indicates the effect of cache on reducing write I/O latency. A larger value means better data convergence and higher write performance.

Prefetch rate (%)

Ratio of accessed data amount to total data amount on the cache. Divide the amount of prefetch data read by hosts by the total amount of prefetch data to obtain the ratio. The statistics are collected by LUN.

Indicates prefetch efficiency. A larger value means better prefetch effect.

Read cache hit ratio (%)

Divide read I/O hits by front-end read I/Os to obtain the statistics. The statistics are collected by LUN.

Indicates the ratio of hit read data in cache.

Write cache hit ratio (%)

Ratio of front-end write I/O hits to total write I/Os. The statistics are collected by LUN.

Indicates the cache effect of the host writing data to the same area for multiple times.

Time since last synchronization (s)

Time interval between the current system time and the start time of last remote replication

Indicates the time interval since the start of last remote replication.

Unsynchronized data amount (MB)

the number of megabytes by which the secondary image differs from the primary image (s)

Indicates the amount of data that is not synchronized.

Read requests to the snapshot LUN

Specifies the total number of read requests to the snapshot LUN in a performance statistics period after virtual snapshot is activated. The number is an accumulated value.

Indicates the number of read requests to the snapshot LUN.

Read requests redirected to the source LUN

Specifies the number of read requests redirected from the snapshot LUN to the source LUN (including the source LUN data volume and COW volume) in a performance statistics period after virtual snapshot is activated. The number is an accumulated value.

Indicates the number of read requests to the source LUN.

COW requests to the source LUN

Specifies the number of COW requests triggered by source LUN writing (calculated based on the source LUN instead of single snapshots) in a performance statistics period after virtual snapshot is activated.

Indicates the number of COW requests to the source LUN.

COW requests from the snapshot LUN

Specifies the number of COW requests triggered by snapshot LUN writing when the write I/O size is smaller than the grain size in a performance statistics period after virtual snapshot is activated. (COW is implemented in the unit of grain.)

Indicates the accumulative number of COW requests triggered by snapshot LUN.

Write requests to the snapshot LUN

Specifies the number of write requests to the snapshot LUN in a performance statistics period after the virtual snapshot is activated. The number is an accumulated value.

Write requests to the source LUN exceeding the grain size

Specifies the number of write requests to the source LUN when the write I/O size is greater than the grain size in a performance statistics period after the virtual snapshot is activated. The number is an accumulated value. (COW is implemented in the unit of grain.)

Indicates the I/O granularity of the source LUN.

Cache read usage (%)

Ratio of used read pages to total read pages.

Indicates the busyness of cache read pages.

Ratio of read and write I/O hits to total number of front-end read I/Os. The statistics are collected by LUN.

Indicates the effect of cache on reducing read I/O latency.

Cache water (%)

Ratio of dirty pages to total pages. When a high watermark is reached, cache flushes occur.

Total capacity (GB)

Total disk capacity.

Indicates total system capacity.

Indicates the capacity allocated to services by the system.

Available pool capacity.

Percentage of used PageUnits in the quota of the cache.

Displays the cache resource utilization. A high watermark indicates high usage of the PageUnit resource of the current volume cache.

Cache page preservation (%)

Cache page inventory of LUNs and file systems.

Displays the cache page quota allocated. A large number indicates a greater quota.

Cache chunk preservation (%)

Cache chunk inventory of LUNs and file systems.

Displays the cache chunk quota allocated. A large number indicates a greater quota.

Time difference (s)

Time difference (s) between the data synchronization points in time of the primary and secondary resources in a synchronization period.

Reflects the time difference (s) between the data synchronization points in time of the primary and secondary resources in a synchronization period of asynchronous remote replication.

Read and write request data amount processed by a module per second.

Indicates the I/O data processed per second.
