Exporting Performance Data

Exporting Performance Data

SystemReporter continuously collects its performance data for a registered and running storage system. The data export function allows you to export any relevant data. When performance decreases, the exported performance data can help you locate faults.

Context

The Data Export function of SystemReporter allows performance data to be exported as editable CSV and XML files, facilitating data analysis based on user needs. Performance data can also be exported as non-editable PDF, HTML, and XLS files.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Create Data Export Task page.

    1. On the top navigation bar of the SystemReporter user interface, click System.
    2. In the left navigation tree, choose Data Export > Data Export.
    3. In the right pane, click Create.

The Create Data Export Task dialog box is displayed.

  2. Set information about the data export task.

Set basic information about the data export task. Table 3-10 describes related parameters.

    Description

    Value

    Name

Name of a data export task.

    [Example]

    test1234

    Description

Description of a data export task.

    [Example]

    Send email?

If you specify recipients, the report generated in the current data export task will be sent to them.

    NOTE:

Click Send email?. Set Email to a mailbox address and describe the address in Remarks. Click Add to add the mailbox address to the mailbox address list.

You can click to remove unnecessary mailbox addresses from the list.

    [Example]

  3. Click Next and select objects whose monitoring data needs to be exported.

    1. On the Select Object page, click Add.

The Select Object dialog box is displayed.

      • Select a report type from the Report Type drop-down list. Possible values are Performance and Capacity. This section uses Performance as an example.
      • In the Select Monitoring Object area, select Device Name and Object Type. In the Available Objects area, select objects.
      • In the Select Indicator Template area, select a desired indicator template.
        NOTE:

Default template is selected by default. You can click Details to view indicators included in the indicator template.

      • In the Select Statistical Method area, set Value and Sort Order.
      • Click OK.
      NOTE:

If two or more reports are added, you can click Consolidate report to combine all of the information into one report.

    2. Click Next. Set time information and format of the data export task. Table 3-11 describes related parameters.

      Export Frequency

      Data export frequency.

      [Value range]

Possible values are Export once, Export by day, Export by week, and Export by month.

      [Example]

      Export by day

      Executed At

When to execute a data export task.

      [Value range]

Possible values are Export Now and Export At.

      NOTE:

If you select Export At, specify the export time, for example, 2016-03-04 00:00. The export time cannot be earlier than the current time.

      [Example]

      Export Now

      [Example]

      18:00

      Time Range

      NOTE:
      • A report can be exported in one or more formats.
      • Data exported to PDF, HTML, and XLS files cannot be edited. Data exported to CSV and XML files can be edited.

      [Example]

      PDF

      Data Granularity

Data export granularity. This parameter is valid only when Export Format is set to CSV or XML. If you select High-frequency data first, high-frequency data is exported preferentially.

      NOTE:

SystemReporter can collect data at the shortest intervals of 5 seconds as high-frequency data. SystemReporter archives high-frequency data collected within a period as a copy of low-frequency data. High-frequency data features smaller granularity and larger volume. If you select High-frequency data first, it takes a longer time to export data.

      [Example]

      Selected

    3. Click Finish.

The Information dialog box is displayed.

    4. Click OK. The data export task is configured successfully.

Follow-up Procedure

  • Download exported data reports.

After data is exported, you can view exported data on the Data Export Report list. Select the report that you want to download and click Download to save the file to a folder.

    NOTE:

After downloading reports, you can click Delete to delete unnecessary reports.

  • You can perform operations such as Delete, Modify Basic Information, Modify Object, and Modify Export Parameters on data export tasks.
