Checking Real-time Performance Data

Checking Real-time Performance Data

This operation enables you to view performance indicators of a storage system in real time, thereby knowing the storage system's running status.

Real-time performance monitoring data can be viewed only when the pertaining function is enabled.

The performance of the following objects can be monitored: back-end storage ports, front-end ports, remote links, storage pools, controllers, and hosts. The methods used to view and monitor the performance data of various objects are generally similar. The following takes controllers as an example.

  1. Log in to OceanStor DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Monitor > Performance Monitoring.

The Performance Monitoring page is displayed.

  3. Select the object and statistical indicator that you want to monitor.

To enable the monitoring function, click Monitor Settings in the upper function pane of the Performance Monitoring page and go to the Set Performance Monitoring Parameters page.

    1. Click Monitor.
    2. Select the object types, objects and statistics indicators of the storage device that you want to monitor in Monitoring Panel.

You can click Clear All above the selected objects or indicators to clear all selected objects or indicators.

    3. Click Start Monitoring.
      • If the Object Type is Remote Replication, the system only provides the performance statistics of remote replication in Asynchronous mode.
      • When selecting statistics indicators, click More to view additional indications.
      • You can click Reset to reset all statistical objects and indicators.

  4. View performance monitoring data in the performance line graph.

    • When you place the cursor on the performance data sampling point, the statistic and sampling time are displayed.
    • The value at the sampling point is a value for which unit conversion is performed. Statistical graphics and zoom ratios show values before unit conversion.
    • You can click or on the upper right corner to switch the view.
    • You can click on the upper right corner of the line graph and select an area in the graph to zoom in the area. Then, you can click to restore the zoomed-in area or click to restore to the initial view.
