Viewing SmartMigration Information (Applicable to V300R002C10 and Earlier Versions)

This operation enables you to view basic information of the created SmartMigration.

Procedure

  1. Choose Provisioning > Resource Performance Tuning > SmartMigration.
  2. View the SmartMigration information. Table 5-1 describes the related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Setting

    Source LUN Name

    Name of the source LUN.

    [Example]

    LUN000

    Source LUN ID

    ID of the source LUN.

    [Example]

    0

    Target LUN Name

    Name of the target LUN.

    [Example]

    LUN001

    Target LUN ID

    ID of the target LUN.

    [Example]

    1

    Running Status

Running status of the SmartMigration. Including Migrating, Migrated, Fault, Normal and Queuing.

    [Example]

    Migrated

    Migration Speed

Migration speed of the SmartMigration. The value contains Low, Medium, High and Highest.

    • Low

Migration takes a long time. The low speed is recommended when the system service load is heavy.

The migration speed ranges from 0 MB/s to 5 MB/s.

    • Medium

Migration takes a relatively short period. The medium speed is recommended when the system service load is relatively heavy.

      For Dorado3000 V3, the speed rages from 5 MB/s to 10 MB/s. For other models, the speed ranges from 10 MB/s to 20 MB/s.

    • High

Migration takes a short period. The high speed is recommended when the system service load is relatively light.

      For Dorado3000 V3, the speed ranges from 10 MB/s to 20 MB/s. For Dorado5000 V3 (SAS), the speed ranges from 20 MB/s to 35 MB/s. For Dorado5000 V3 (NVMe), Dorado6000 V3, and Dorado18000 V3, the speed ranges from 50 MB/s to 70 MB/s.

    • Highest

Migration takes the shortest period. The highest speed is recommended when the system service load is the lightest.

If no host is delivering I/Os, the migration speed is higher than 100 MB/s. If any hosts are delivering I/Os, the maximum migration speed is about 80 MB/s. (For Dorado3000 V3, the speed ranges from 10 MB/s to 20 MB/s).

    NOTE:
    • The speed is affected by the LUN read and write performance and the link bandwidth.
    • A high migration speed imposes greater impact on the host service performance. Performing synchronization at the Highest speed may cause overloaded services and interruption of SmartMigration during synchronization. You are advised to use the highest speed when no service is running on hosts.

    [Example]

    Medium

    Start Time

    Time when SmartMigration starts.

    [Example]

    2014-01-26 14:09:30 UTC+8:00

    End Time

    Time when SmartMigration ends.

    [Example]

    2014-01-26 14:10:31 UTC+8:00

    Split Mode

Split mode of SmartMigration. The value can be Automatically Split or Manually Split.

    • Automatically Split

After data synchronization, the system performs splitting automatically. After that, the migration is complete.

    • Manually Split

After data synchronization, perform splitting manually. After that, the migration is complete.

    [Example]

    Automatically Split
