Indicator/Button

State Description

Fault diagnosis LED

  • ---: The node is operating properly.
  • Error code: A fault occurs in node hardware.

    For details about error codes, see Rack Server iBMC Alarm Handling. Obtain the document as follows:

    Log in to http://support.huawei.com/enterprise, enter server model TaiShan 2280 in the search box, and click the associated path that is displayed. The corresponding product page is displayed. Click Documentation, and search for and download the document of the desired version.

Health indicator

  • Steady green: The node is operating properly.
  • Blinking red at 1 Hz: A major alarm is generated.
  • Blinking red at 5 Hz: A critical alarm is generated.

UID button/indicator

The UID button/indicator helps identify and locate a node. You can turn on or off the UID indicator by pressing the UID button or remotely running a command on the iBMC CLI.

UID indicator:

  • Steady blue/Blinking blue: The node is located.
  • Off: The node is not located.

UID button:

  • You can press this button to turn on or off the UID indicator.
  • You can press and hold down this button for 4 to 6 seconds to reset the iBMC.

Power button/indicator

Power indicator:

  • Steady yellow: The node is ready to power on.
  • Steady green: The node is properly powered on.
  • Blinking yellow: The iBMC is starting.
  • Off: The node is not connected to a power source.

Power button:

  • When the node is powered on, you can press this button to shut down the OS.
  • When the node is powered on, you can hold down the button for 6 seconds to forcibly power it off.
  • When the node is ready to power on, you can press this button to power it on.

Disk fault indicator

  • Off: The disk is operating properly.
  • Blinking yellow: The disk is located or rebuilding RAID.
  • Steady yellow: The disk is faulty, or the RAID group to which the disk belongs is abnormal.

Disk activity indicator

  • Off: The disk is faulty or not detected.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the disk, or synchronized between disks.
  • Steady green: The disk is inactive.

Network port link status indicators

Each indicator shows the status of an Ethernet LOM port.

  • Steady green: The network port is properly connected.
  • Off: The network port is not in use or has failed.
NOTE:
  • The indicators show the status of the two 10GE and two GE LOM ports.
  • As long as the external power cables are functional, power is still provided to the LOM after the service system is powered off. If the connection between an LOM port and other working network devices is normal, the LOM port will remain connected and its indicator will not turn off.

Indicator

State Description

Disk fault indicator

  • Off: The disk is operating properly.
  • Blinking yellow: The disk is located or rebuilding RAID.
  • Steady yellow: The disk is faulty, or the RAID group to which the disk belongs is abnormal.

Disk activity indicator

  • Off: The disk is faulty or not detected.
  • Blinking green: Data is being read from or written to the disk, or synchronized between disks.
  • Steady green: The disk is inactive.

PSU indicator

  • Steady green: Both the active output and the standby output are normal.
  • Steady orange: The input is normal, but no power output is supplied due to overheat protection, overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, output overvoltage protection, or some component failures.
  • Blinking green at 1 Hz:
    • The input is normal, but the PSU stops the output due to PSON or Present#.
    • The input is overvoltage or undervoltage.
  • Off: No AC power is supplied.

Management network port

Data transmission status indicator

  • Blinking yellow: Data is being transmitted.
  • Off: No data is being transmitted.

Link status indicator

  • Steady green: The network port is properly connected.
  • Off: The network port is not connected.

UID indicator

The UID indicator helps identify and locate a node.

  • Steady blue/Blinking blue: The node is located.
  • Off: The node is not located.

Optical port

Data transmission status indicator

  • Blinking orange: Data is being transmitted.
  • Off: No data is being transmitted.

Link status indicator

  • Steady green: The network port is properly connected.
  • Off: The network port is not connected.
