  • Labels

Replacement Process

Replace a flexible NIC by following the process shown in Figure 22-1.

Procedure

  1. Remove the storage node from its cabinet and remove the chassis cover. For details, see Basic Operations.
  2. Remove the flexible NIC.

    1. Loosen the screws that secure the flexible NIC using a Phillips screwdriver, as shown in step 1 in the following figures.

      Figure 22-3 Removing a flexible NIC of a TaiShan 5280 V2 node
    2. Slowly pull out the flexible NIC, as shown in step 2 in the preceding figures.

  3. Place the removed flexible NIC in an ESD bag.
  4. Take the spare flexible NIC out of its ESD bag.
  5. Install the flexible NIC.

    1. Align the flexible NIC with the rear guide rails in the chassis, and push the flexible NIC in the arrow direction as far as it will go, as shown in step 1 in the following figures. Ensure that the installation plane of the captive screws is in contact with the rear panel.

      Figure 22-5 Installing a flexible NIC of a TaiShan 5280 V2 node
    2. Tighten the screws using a Phillips screwdriver to secure the flexible NIC, as shown in step 2 in the preceding figures.

  6. Install the chassis cover and put the storage node into the cabinet. For details, see Basic Operations.
  7. Connect the storage node to the power sockets and peripheral devices according to the cable connection labels. Ensure that all cables are correctly connected and then power on the storage node. If the storage node is not powered on, press the power button on the front panel.
  8. Check the system status.

On SmartKit, choose Home > Storage > Routine Maintenance > More > Inspection and check the system status.
    • If all inspection items pass the inspection, the inspection is successful.
    • If some inspection items fail, the inspection fails. Rectify the faults by taking recommended actions in the inspection reports. Perform inspection again after fault rectification. If the inspection still fails, contact Huawei technical support.

For details, see the FusionStorage OBS Administrator Guide.
