Adding a Device

To use SmartKit to inspect a device and collect information, you need to add the device to the tool.



  • After logging in to SmartKit, click in the upper right corner to obtain help information to know how to use the tool.


  1. Configure the IP address and gateway of the PC where the tool is installed and add the IP address and gateway to the management network. Ensure that SmartKit can properly communicate with the storage system.
  2. Start SmartKit, and choose Devices > Storage > Add.
  3. On the Add Device Step 2-1: Basic Information page, enter the management floating IP address of the cluster to be inspected, as shown in Figure 3-1.

  4. (Optional) Click Customize Authentication and select an authentication mode.

    The default value is Username and password authentication.

  5. Click Next. On the Add Device Step 2-2: Configure Information page, enter username admin, password (default password: Admin@storage), and set the port to 22, as shown in Figure 3-2.

    The following uses the username and password authentication as an example. Enter the authentication information based on the actual authentication configuration.

    • When the device is added for the first time or the fingerprint of the SSH server changes, the system prompts you to register the device and continue the connection. Ignore the message.
    • If the device is added for the first time or the device certificate is untrusted, the system displays a message indicating that the connection is untrusted. Ignore the message.
    • If the device fails to be added and both the network and device are normal, the SmartKit version may be incorrect. Download the latest SmartKit tool.

  6. Click Finish. The newly added device is displayed in the device list.
