Installing a PGND Cable and Power Cable for a KVM

With a PGND cable and power cable installed, the KVM can be securely grounded and power supplied.


  • A PDU for the Huawei cabinet or a power distribution device for the third-party cabinet has been prepared.
  • All required tools have been prepared, containing Phillips screwdrivers, cable ties, diagonal pliers, and ESD gloves or an ESD wrist strap.
  • Operations described in Installing a KVM have been completed.


For details about power distribution of intra-cabinet components, see Typical Configurations.


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
  2. Connect a PGND cable and an AC power cable to the KVM, as shown in Figure 9-21.

    1. Connect one OT terminal of a yellow and green PGND cable to the ground point of the KVM.
    2. Connect and secure the other OT terminal of the PGND cable to the immediately adjacent ground point on the mounting bar of the cabinet
    3. Install an AC power cable and PGND cable to the KVM.

  3. Connect a power cable to a PDU port.

    To ensure that devices can operate stably, connect power cables on a device supplied by two power modules to separate PDUs.

    Connect the other end of the power cable to the power port of the immediately adjacent PDU and then lock it up, as shown in Figure 9-22.

  4. Arrange and bind power cables.
