Installation Procedure

Installation Procedure

  1. Log in to dbn01 as user oracle and select a proper graphical display scheme.
  2. Go to the database directory generated after the decompression and run runInstaller to access the database installation GUI.
  3. On the database installation GUI, deselect I wish to receive security updates via My Oracle Support, and click Next. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

  4. Select Install database software only and click Next.

  5. Select Oracle Real Application Clusters database installation and click Next.

  6. Clock Select all to select both nodes. Click SSH Connectivity, enter the password of user oracle, and click Setup to configure the SSH trust relationship.

  7. Select Enterprise Edition and click Next.

  8. Retain the default Oracle Base and Software Location and click Next.

  9. Retain the default Oracle user groups and click Next.

  10. View check results. If alarms are displayed, handle them as follows:

    • "Task resolv.conf Integrity": This is a parsing timeout alarm and you can ignore it.
    • "Single Client Access Name (SCAN)": Ignore this alarm. This alarm is displayed if only one SCAN IP address is configured.
    • "/dev/shm mounted as temporary file system": This alarm is generated due to a bug of Oracle. The cluvfy check does not check whether /dev/shm is mounted but checks the configuration information of /dev/shm in /etc/fstab. You can ignore this alarm.
    • If the system reports other alarms, contact the database administrator for confirmation before performing the installation.

  11. Select Ignore All to ignore the alarms and click Next. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

  12. Check the installation summary and click Install.

  13. When the following dialog box is displayed during the installation, run the script on both nodes as user root. Run the script on the dbn01 node first and then on the dbn02 node. After the script is executed on both nodes, click OK to continue the installation. After the progress reaches 100%, click Next.

During the execution of the script, you need to press Enter manually. If the script is successfully executed, the following information is displayed.

  14. Click Close. Oracle Database is installed.
