Creating ASM Disk Groups

Creating ASM Disk Groups

The ASM disk groups provide storage space for the database.


Perform the following steps to create the DATA disk group:

  1. Log in to the dbn01 node as user grid, and run the asmca command to open the ASM Configuration Assistant window.

  2. In the ASM Configuration Assistant window, click the Disk Groups tab, and click Create. The Create Disk Group window is displayed.

  3. Configure the parameters of the DATA disk group.

    • Set Disk Group Name to DATA.
    • Set Redundancy to Normal.
    • Select all DATA disks in the list.

  4. Click OK. In the displayed dialog box, click OK. The DATA disk group is created.

  5. Repeat the preceding steps to create other disk groups. After the disk groups are created, click OK.
