Disabling the Firewall


The commands for disabling the firewall are different on different OSs. For details about how to disable the firewall, visit the official website of each OS.

  • If the OS is RHEL 6, run the following commands to disable the firewall:
    [root@dbn01 ~]# service iptables stop
    [root@dbn01 ~]# chkconfig iptables off
    [root@dbn01 ~]# service iptables status
    iptables: Firewall is not running.
  • If the OS is RHEL 7, run the following commands to disable the firewall:
    [root@dbn01 ~]# systemctl stop firewalld
    [root@dbn01 ~]# systemctl disable firewalld
