EEM_103104611 The Database Memory Usage Reaches the Threshold

Description

When the memory usage of the database server reaches the configured threshold (default value of 80%), this alarm is generated.

Operation alarm

Impact on the System

  • An exception occurs when the EEM updates the cache, affecting services of the EEM.
  • The response of the EEM is slow, and operations are performed slowly.
  • Service processing is slow and services are stacked.

Possible Causes

  • The threshold for the memory usage of the database server is improper.
  • The database server is performing operations, which occupies system resources and is time-consuming.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the threshold for the memory usage of the database server is correct.
    • If so, go to 2.
    • If not, contact the administrator and reconfigure the threshold for the memory usage of the database server. Wait for 5 minutes and check whether the memory usage of the database server is lower than the configured threshold.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, go to 2.
  2. Log in to the database server.
  3. Check the memory usage occupied by processes of the database server.

    • In the SUSE Linux OS, run the top command to check the memory usage of each process in memory of the command output.
    • In the Windows operating system, check the memory usage of each process in memory on the process page through the task manager.

  4. Stop the processes with the high memory usage in the query result, and check whether the memory usage of the database server is lower than the configured threshold.
    • If so, the process is ended.
    • If not, collect the alarm and configuration information, and contact technical support personnel.

Clearing

The alarm must be cleared manually.
