Description

An AR538 in a modular meter obtains the radio frequency (RF) module software version every two minutes. This alarm is generated when the AR538 fails to obtain the RF module software version.

Impact on the System

The RF function cannot be implemented.

Possible Causes

  • The RF subcard is absent.
  • The RF chip is faulty.
  • A universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) communication fault occurred between the MCU and RF card.

Procedure

  1. Check alarm location information and confirm the information about the electrical meter on which the alarm occurs.
    1. Start the EEM, enter the user name and password, and click Go to log in to the EEM.
    2. Choose Monitoring > Alarm > Current Alarm to access the Current Alarm page and view the alarm list.
    3. Click next to the alarm. The system displays detailed information about the alarm, such as alarm location.
  2. Confirm the device that generates this alarm and check whether the device has an RF subcard installed.

    • If not, install an RF subcard on the RF module. After the RF subcard works normally, check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, go to 3.
    • If not, go to 3.

  3. Check whether the RF chip is faulty.

    • If so, rectify the fault. After the RF chip works properly, check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, go to 4.
    • If not, go to 4.

  4. Check whether an UART communication fault occurs between the MCU and RF card.

    • If so, rectify the fault. After the UART communication between the MCU and RF card is normal, check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, collect alarm information and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
    • If not, collect alarm information and contact Huawei technical support personnel.

Clearing

The alarm cannot be automatically cleared by the system and needs to be cleared manually.
