Description

The main control module of an AR538 in a modular meter sends heartbeat messages periodically to a frequency shift keying (FSK) power line communication (PLC) subcard. An alarm is generated when the FSK PLC subcard does not or cannot reply to these messages.

Attribute

Impact on the System

The FSK PLC subcard cannot work properly. As a result, device archives cannot be added or deleted, and data interrogation cannot be performed.

Possible Causes

  • The FSK PLC subcard is absent.
  • The FSK PLC subcard is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check alarm location information and confirm the information about the electrical meter on which the alarm occurs.
    1. Start the EEM, enter the user name and password, and click Go to log in to the EEM.
    2. Choose Monitoring > Alarm > Current Alarm to access the Current Alarm page and view the alarm list.
    3. Click next to the alarm. The system displays detailed information about the alarm, such as alarm location.
  2. Confirm the device that generates this alarm and check whether the device has an FSK PLC subcard installed.

    • If so, go to 3.
    • If not, install an FSK PLC subcard on the device. After the FSK PLC subcard works properly, check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, go to 3.

  3. Check whether the FSK PLC subcard is faulty.

    • If so, rectify the fault. After the FSK PLC subcard works properly, check whether the alarm is cleared.
      • If so, the process is ended.
      • If not, collect alarm information and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
    • If not, collect alarm information and contact Huawei technical support personnel.
