Setting Basic Parameters
You can set basic parameters for the endpoint, including the time and time zone, power management, user, ringtone, and email.
Procedure

- Set the basic parameters listed in Table 1-3.

Time Zone Location
Specifies the country or area where your endpoint is located.
When you set this parameter, your endpoint automatically adjusts the value of the Time zone parameter.
The default value is China.
Time zone
Specifies the time difference between the local time and the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
The default value is (UTC+08:00) Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Urumqi.
Your endpoint automatically sets this parameter based on the value set for Location.
Time format
Specifies the format in which time is displayed.
The default value is 24-hour.
Date format
Specifies the format in which the date is displayed.
The default value is YYYY/MM/DD.
Enable NTP
Specifies whether to automatically synchronize system time with a Network Time Protocol (NTP) server at an interval of 300 seconds.
NOTE:If you set this parameter to Enable NTP, you must also set NTP server address.
The default value is Disable.
NTP server address
Specifies the NTP server IP address or domain name.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Set this parameter to the IP address or domain name of the actually deployed NTP server.
NTP address type
Specifies the mode for your endpoint to obtain the NTP server IP address.
- Auto: Your endpoint automatically obtains the NTP server IP address.
- Manual: You must manually set the NTP server IP address.
This parameter is available only when Connection type is set to Dynamic IP.
NOTE:For details about how to set Connection type, see Setting LAN Parameters.The default value is Manual.
System time
Specifies the time set on the system.
Set the system time to your local time to ensure appropriate use of system functions, such as joining conferences on time and recording accurate event occurrence time in logs.
Power Management Shut Down/Restart
Specifies whether to display Shut Down and Restart under on the interactive whiteboard (IWB) when the endpoint enables the collaboration function and connects to an IWB.NOTE:To enable the collaboration function, choose System SettingsGUI DisplayGUI and set Collaboration to Enable.The default value is Enable.
Enter Sleep Mode
Specifies the period after which the endpoint enters sleep mode if you do not perform any operations.
If you set this parameter to Never, the endpoint will never automatically enter sleep mode.
The default value is 10 min.
Wake-on-LAN
Specifies whether you can remotely wake up the endpoint from sleep mode by sending WOL messages.
The default value is Disable.
Wakeup by Face Detection
Specifies whether the endpoint wakes up when the built-in camera detects faces one minute after the endpoint enters the sleep mode.
The default value is Disable.
Auto restart
Specifies whether to enable the automatic restart function. After this function is enabled, the endpoint automatically restarts at 02:00 a.m. at the interval specified by Auto restart interval (days). The endpoint does not restart if it is in a conference, being upgraded, or performing diagnosis or inspection, content is projected, or an application is running on the whiteboard.
The default value is Disable.
Auto restart interval (days)
This parameter is available when Auto restart is set to Enable.
Specifies the automatic restart interval of the endpoint.
The default value is 1.
The value ranges from 1 to 30.
Cleanup during sleep
Specifies whether to enable the clearing function for the endpoint in sleep mode. After this function is enabled, the whiteboard content, annotations, and applications are automatically cleared when the endpoint is in sleep mode.
The default value is Disable.

Confirm password
Specifies the administrator's user name and password.
The user name can contain a maximum of 64 characters, and the password can contain 8 to 32 characters.
The password must include at least three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters.
Change the initial password at the first use, and periodically change the password afterwards.
API user name
New password
Confirm password
Specifies the account used to log in to the endpoint's web interface or used by a third party to connect to the endpoint.
NOTE:When you change the password of the API user, the system prompts you to enter the administrator password. You can change the password of the API user only after entering the correct administrator password.The user name can contain a maximum of 64 characters, and the password can contain 8 to 32 characters.
The password must include at least three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, and special characters.
Ringtone
Ringtone Specifies the ringtone for incoming calls.
The default value is Default.
Email
Email server address
Specifies the IP address of the mail server. The mail server is used to send the meeting minutes and other information to a user's email address. No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value from the administrator.
Email server port
Specifies the port for communicating with the mail server. The default value is 25.
Obtain the value from the administrator.
Security protocol
Specifies the security protocol used for email transmission.- None: No security protocol is used for encryption.
- TLS: Use the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol to implement email transmission security. If you select this option, you must import a root certificate when your endpoint registers with the mail server. For details, see Importing Server and CA Certificates.
- STARTTLS: Use the STARTTLS protocol to implement email transmission security. If you select this option, you must import a root certificate when your endpoint registers with the mail server. For details, see Importing Server and CA Certificates.
If you select None, security risks exist. Select TLS or STARTTLS based on the encryption type of the mail server.
The default value is STARTTLS.
Email address
Specifies the email address of a sender.
No default value is set for this parameter.
You are advised to use a dedicated email account.
User name
Specifies the user name used by the endpoint to register with the mail server.
This user name must be the same as that added on the mail server.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value from the administrator.
Password
Specifies the password that the endpoint uses to register with the mail server. The mail server uses this password to authenticate the endpoint.
This password must be the same as that predefined on the mail server.
No default value is set for this parameter.
Obtain the value from the administrator.
- Click Save.
The settings take effect immediately.
