This section describes how to check the link layer on WDM interfaces.


The Checking the Hardware is complete, and the NE40E works properly.


  1. Run the display this interface command to view information about the optical module, alarm, error counters, and TTIs on the WDM interface.

    Under normal conditions, parameters (such as FEC, TTI) of WDM interfaces on the two ends of the NE40E are the same; there are no link alarms or errors.

  2. Run the ping command to test the connectivity of WDM link.

Common Troubleshooting

The WDM interface is composed of a controller WDM interface and an Ethernet interface. If the physical layer of the Ethernet interface can not go Up, perform the following steps:

  1. Check whether parameters (such as FEC, TTI) of WDM interfaces on two ends of the NE40E are the same. If not, adjust configurations of WDM interfaces on two ends of the NE40E.

  2. Check the Ethernet interface according to "Common Troubleshooting" in Checking Ethernet Interfaces.

  3. If the fault persists, contact Huawei technical support personnel.
