Impact

If an IS-IS Level-1-2 router imports a route with a priority lower than IS-IS and the route is learned by another level of the current router after route leaking, route flapping occurs.

Properly plan the network.

Route flapping occurs.

If multiple primary IP addresses are configured on an IS-IS BFD interface, the smallest IP address that is on the same network segment as the interface IP address of an IS-IS neighbor is used to establish a BFD session with the neighbor.

Properly plan IP addresses and do not delete interface IP addresses.

When the IP address used for establishing a BFD session is deleted, the BFD module reports a BFD Down event to IS-IS and the IS-IS neighbor relationship goes Down.

In the scenario where multiple primary IP addresses are configured on an interface, IS-IS uses a smaller IP address in the IP addresses that are suitable for neighbor relationship setup to establish a BFD session. After the IP address is deleted, BFD reports a BFD Down event to IS-IS, causing the IS-IS neighbor relationship to go Down. Then, IS-IS uses another IP address to establish a new neighbor relationship.

None

If the IP address used by a BFD session is deleted, the involved IS-IS neighbor relationship becomes invalid, and then IS-IS re-negotiates and establishes a new neighbor relationship.
