Configuring Traffic Statistics Collection for VPLS QoS

You can collect VPLS QoS traffic statistics in real time to check whether the QoS requirements are met.

Usage Scenario

To monitor network operating status and locate problems in an easier way on a VPLS network, you can configure traffic statistics collection for VPLS QoS.

In a scenario in which QoS is configured, after traffic statistics collection is enabled, you can check whether traffic meets the QoS requirements based on real-time traffic information.

Pre-configuration Tasks

Statistics about QoS-based VPLS traffic can be collected for a VSI or for a VSI PW.QoS-based traffic statistics collection for a VSI takes effect to all PWs in the VSI. QoS-based traffic statistics collection for a VSI PW takes effect to a specified LDP PW in a VSI.

Before configuring QoS traffic statistics collection based on a VPLS VSI, complete the following tasks:

  • Configure a VPLS VSI.
  • Configure VPLS QoS.

Before configuring QoS traffic statistics collection based on a VSI PW, complete the following tasks:

  • Configure a VPLS VSI.
  • Configure a PW for the VPLS VSI.
  • Configure VPLS QoS.

Procedure

  1. Configure QoS-based traffic statistics collection for a VPLS VSI.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run vsi

      A VSI is created, and the VSI view is displayed.

    3. Run qos cir (VSI view) cir-value [ pir pir-value ] [ qos-profile qos-profile-name ]

      VSI-based QoS is enabled.

    4. Run traffic-statistics enable (VSI view)

      Traffic statistics collection for VPLS QoS is enabled.

    5. Run commit

      The configuration is committed.

  2. Configure QoS-based traffic statistics collection for a VPLS VSI PW.
    1. Run system-view

      The system view is displayed.

    2. Run vsi

      A VSI is created, and the VSI view is displayed.

    3. Run pwsignal ldp

      The VSI is configured to use the LDP signaling, and the VSI-LDP view is displayed.

    4. Run pw

      A PW is created, and the VSI-LDP-PW view is displayed.

    5. Run qos cir (VSI-LDP-PW view) cir-value [ pir pir-value ] [ qos-profile qos-profile-name ]

      VSI PW-based QoS is enabled.

    6. Run traffic-statistics enable (VSI-LDP view)

      Traffic statistics collection for VPLS QoS is enabled.

    7. Run commit

      The configuration is committed.

Checking the Configurations

After configuring traffic statistics collection for VPLS QoS, perform the following operation to check the configuration results:
  • Run the display traffic-statistics vsi vsi-name qos [ peer peer-address [ ldp129 | negotiation-vc-id vc-id | remote-site remote-site-id ] ] command to check VPLS QoS traffic statistics.

# Run the display traffic-statistics vsi vsi-name qos [ peer peer-address [ ldp129 | negotiation-vc-id vc-id | remote-site remote-site-id ] ] command. The command output shows VPLS QoS traffic statistics.
