Configuring WFQ

This section describes how to configure weighted fair queuing (WFQ) on low-speed links for queues into which packets are classified.


Perform the following steps on the router.


  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run interface interface-type interface-number

    The interface view is displayed.


    Queue scheduling on low-speed links can be configured only in the Multilink Point-to-Point (MP)-Group interface view, Global-MP-Group interface view, serial interface view, Trunk-Serial interface view.

  3. Perform one of the following steps based on the desired WFQ queue scheduling mode.

    • If the weight-based scheduling mode is needed, perform the following operations:
      1. Run the set port-queue weight-mode command to set the WFQ queue scheduling mode of the interface to Weight.
      2. Run the port-queue { cs7 | cs6 | ef | af4 | af3 | af2 | af1 | be } { wfq weight weight-value | shaping { shaping-value | shaping-percentage shaping-percentage-value } }* outbound command to configure WFQ scheduling parameters for an outbound port queue on the interface, including the weight and shaping rate.
    • If the CIR-based scheduling mode is needed, run the port-queue { cs6 | ef | af4 | af3 | af2 | af1 | be } wfq shaping cir { cir-value | percentage cir-percent } [ pir { pir-value | percentage pir-percent } ] command to configure WFQ queue scheduling parameters.

  4. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
