Disabling Multicast Data Replication and Forwarding

Disabling Multicast Data Replication and Forwarding

On a dual-edge network, the NE40E on one edge only performs virtual scheduling of multicast traffic, and the received data is only used for bandwidth statistics collection rather than data replication and forwarding. Therefore, you can disable the NE40E disable from replicating and forwarding multicast data. The device on the other edge is responsible for forwarding multicast data.

Context

However, if the NE40E is deployed on a dual-edge network and this device only performs virtual scheduling of multicast traffic, you can disable the NE40E from replicating and forwarding multicast data.

Procedure

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run aaa

    The AAA view is displayed.

  3. Run domain domain-name

A domain is created, and the domain view is displayed.

  4. Run multicast without-forwardingNE40E

The function to replicate and forward multicast data is disabled.

  5. Run commit

    The configuration is committed.
