(Optional) Configuring the Tunnel Password Delivery Mode

(Optional) Configuring the Tunnel Password Delivery Mode

The RADIUS server supports a tunnel password in cipher text or plain text.

The RADIUS protocol specifies that the RADIUS server must deliver the tunnel password in cipher text. Most RADIUS servers, however, do not conform to this specification. Therefore, the NE40E supports configuration of the tunnel password delivery mode so that the NE40E can communicate with various types of RADIUS servers.

Perform the following steps on the router:

  1. Run system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run radius-server group group-name

    The RADIUS server group view is displayed.

  3. Run radius-attribute tunnel-password { cipher | simple }

    The mode in which the RADIUS server delivers the tunnel password is configured.
