Networking Requirements

On the PIM-SM/SSM Layer 3 multicast network shown in Figure 5-2, the EMDI detection solution is deployed on all SRs and CRs for real-time detection on the service packets that pass through all these nodes. The detection indicators include the packet loss rate and packet disorder rate.

Configuration Roadmap

The configuration roadmap is as follows:

  1. Configure an EMDI channel group.
  2. Configure an EMDI board group.
  3. Bind the EMDI channel group to the EMDI board group.
  4. Configure an EMDI detection period.
  5. Configure EMDI alarm thresholds and the number of alarm suppression times.

Data Preparation

To complete the configuration, you need the following data:

  1. Information about the channels to be detected, including the channel name, source address, and destination address
  2. Names of the boards used for EMDI detection

Procedure

  1. Configure an EMDI channel group.
