User Group-based and Task Group-based User Management

User Group-based and Task Group-based User Management

Users are managed by task, task group, or user group, described as follows.
  • Task: refers to a group of commands. Generally, the commands for each feature (or module) of the router belong to a single task. To flexibly manage the feature-specific rights, multiple tasks are pre-configured for each feature, and they cannot be added, modified, or deleted.
  • Task group. Tasks that include one or more of the following rights can be added to a task group: read, write, execute, and debug.

The device has four default task groups that cannot be modified: manage-tg, system-tg, monitor-tg, and visit-tg.

  • User group: All users in a user group have the same rights. A user group contains multiple task groups. If a user group is configured for a user domain to which the user belongs, the user automatically belongs to that user group.

A user cannot have higher level rights than those of the user group. Users are authorized based on the user level to which they are assigned. An administrator can authorize a user group to execute commands based on requirements.
