Environmental Requirements for the Installation Site

Environmental Requirements for the Installation Site

Location

To maintain normal performance and prolong the lifespan of the NE40E, the installation site must satisfy the following environmental requirements.

The device should be installed in a standard equipment room rather than any of the locations shown in the following images.

Network box Outdoor cabinet Utility room Corridor Residential building

Environment

  • The equipment room is clean, dry, and dust-free.
  • Doors and windows are in good condition.
  • Holes in walls and ceilings for cabling are protected from rodents and dust.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Keep the NE40E's air intake and exhaust vents away from those of other devices.
  • The NE40E operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 45°C. Maintain the temperature at the air intake vent below 25°C.
  • If the equipment room has no or insufficient central air-conditioning, adding air conditioning units is essential.
  • Air conditioning units should be installed 3 meters away from a device, or with the vent facing one side of the device, to avoid blowing cold air directly on the device.
  • Equipment should not be installed in humid locations. The ambient humidity should be maintained between 5% RH and 85% RH.

Noise Control

The European Commission (EC) and U.S. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) state that workplace noise levels should not exceed 85 dBA. If the noise level exceeds 85 dBA, hearing protection must be provided. Huawei device noise levels are lower than 78 dBA and are NEBS compliant.

The following table lists the noise control requirements for noise-sensitive areas.
